Set an employee’s schedule type
Assign the schedule type that determines how an employee’s schedule is managed.
This section provides a step-by-step guide for set work schedule types to employees within the HRIS + Payroll system. Properly setting schedule types ensures accurate tracking of work hours, attendance, and payroll calculations.
Purpose
To help users:
- Assign the correct schedule type to employees
- Organize employees based on work schedule setup
- Manage and update schedule types efficiently
Prerequisites
Before proceeding, ensure you have:
- Access to the HRIS + Payroll system
- Permission to manage employee schedules
Step 1: Navigate to the Schedule Section
From the Main Dashboard, go to Schedule Module
Step 2: Access Employees Without Assigned Schedules
Locate and click on Set Employee Schedule Type
You will be redirected to the No Schedule Yet table, which lists employees who do not yet have an assigned schedule.
Step 3: Select Employees Schedule Type
From the table, click the checkbox to select the employees you want to assign a schedule type
If you want to assign a schedule to all employees, click the first checkbox in the first column to select all listed employees at once.
Once selected, a Set Schedule Type drop-down button will appear at the top of the table.
Step 4: Choose Schedule Type
Click the Set Schedule Type drop-down and select one of the following schedule types:
- Flexitime: Flexitime allows employees to have flexible start and end times for their workday while still completing the required number of work hours.
- Shift Schedule: Employees follow either a unified (all employees follow the same hours) or rotating shift pattern (employees cycle through different shifts).
- Schedule Exempted: Employees are exempt from scheduled working hours. These employees are considered Log Exempted, meaning they are not required to log standard working hours.
Step 5: Save Schedule Assignment
After selecting the desired schedule type from the Set Schedule Type drop-down, the system will automatically apply that schedule type to all selected employees.
Step 6: Transferring an Employee to Another Schedule Type
Click the current schedule type of the employee to view the list of employees under that schedule. Select the employee(s) you want to transfer by checking the checkbox next to their name in the table.
Click the Set Schedule Type drop-down at the top of the table. From the drop-down menu, choose the new schedule type you want to assign to the selected employee(s). The system will automatically update the employee’s schedule type, and a confirmation message will appear indicating the successful transfer.
Tip: Always double-check that you have selected the correct employee(s) before updating the schedule type.
