Manage ND and NDOT exemptions

Add employees to the Night Differential and Night Differential Overtime exemption list.

Use the ND and NDOT Exemption setting to list employees who should be excluded from Night Differential (ND) and Night Differential Overtime (NDOT) pay, according to your organization’s payroll policy.

Before you start

Confirm the intended employees and exemption policy. Night differential settings and payroll groups should already be configured. You need access to Payroll Settings.

Add employees to the exemption list

  1. Open Payroll and select Settings.
  2. Choose ND and NDOT Exemption.
  3. Select + Add Record, then select + Add New Row.
  4. Choose an employee. You can search by employee ID, first name, or last name.
  5. Repeat + Add New Row for each additional employee.
  6. Select Mass Save, then Close.

The selected employees should appear in the exemption list. The source guide states that employees on this list do not receive ND or NDOT pay, including when they work night hours.

Troubleshooting

  • If an employee still receives ND or NDOT pay, confirm they appear in the exemption list and check the payroll period.
  • If an employee is unavailable, confirm their profile exists and is active.
  • If changes have not taken effect, confirm Mass Save completed before processing payroll.
