Add and assign other earnings
Configure allowances, benefits, bonuses, and special allowances for employees.
Use the Earnings area to set up allowance, benefit, and bonus details, then assign them to employees. Special allowances are entered for employees and are calculated using present days and the per-day amount.
Before you start
- Make sure the employees have profiles and payroll groups.
- Confirm the payroll group and cutoff schedule that should receive the earning.
- Have access to Payroll, Earnings, and Payroll Settings.
- Decide whether the earning is recurring, when it should be released, and how it should be classified in the system.
Create an allowance, benefit, or bonus
- Open Payroll and select Settings.
- Under Payroll Settings, choose Allowance, Benefit, or Bonus.
- Select + Add Record.
- Enter the name, amount, and payroll group.
- Set the available taxable or non-taxable classification according to your organization’s payroll policy. For benefits, select the applicable classification shown by the system.
- If the earning repeats, enable Is Recurring and choose a Release Type. Options depend on the payroll frequency and may include every cutoff or a specific cutoff.
- If the form provides an expiration date for a recurring earning, set it as needed.
- Select Mass Save. When the save confirmation appears, select Close.
For an amount intended to cover a month but released each cutoff, divide the monthly amount across the applicable cutoffs before entering it. For an earning released on one cutoff only, enter the amount intended for that release.
The new earning detail should now appear in its Allowance, Benefit, or Bonus table. The source guide says an earning can be archived only when no employees are enrolled in it.
Assign an earning to employees
- Open Payroll and select Earnings.
- Choose Allowance, Benefits, or Bonus, then select + Add Record.
- In the form, open the Employee tab and choose the earning detail.
- Select the employees who should receive the earning.
- Select Include Selected Employees to assign it.
For allowances, the selected employees menu also offers Adjust Amount for Selected Employees when different employees need different amounts. Enter the employee-specific amount and save. The source guide says Mass Update Allowance is for non-recurring allowance details; select the employees, choose Assigned Allowances for Selected Employees, then enter the updated amount.
If the earning detail does not exist yet, use + Add Allowance, + Add Benefit, or + Add Bonus in the assignment flow to open the related settings area and create it first.
Add a special allowance
- In Payroll, open Earnings and select Special Allowance.
- Select + Add Record.
- Choose the payroll group and enter the allowance name and per-day amount.
- If it repeats, enable Is Recurring and choose the release type. Set an expiration date if the form offers one and it applies.
- Select the employees who should receive it, then choose Include Selected Employees.
The source guide describes the calculation as:
Special allowance = present days × per-day allowance
The amount therefore varies with recorded attendance during the payroll period.
Check the result
Confirm the earning appears in the relevant employee list and is assigned to the intended employees. If it does not appear in payroll, check the payroll group, release type, cutoff, and expiration settings. For a special allowance, also confirm attendance is recorded for the period.
Review all employee selections and earning values before saving. Tax classifications and eligibility should follow your organization’s payroll policy.
