Add adjusted earnings

Add one-time earning adjustments manually or import multiple adjustments from a CSV file.

Use Adjusted Earnings to add an earning that should be included in a selected payroll release, such as a correction or an additional payment. The release date must match a release date configured for the employee’s payroll group for the adjustment to be included in that payroll run.

Before you start

  • Confirm that the employees exist in SprintHR and that the payroll period is defined.
  • Have access to Payroll and Earnings.
  • Confirm the correct release date with your payroll administrator.

Add an adjustment manually

  1. Open Payroll and select Earnings.
  2. Select the Adjusted Earnings tab, then choose + Add Records.
  3. Enter an Earnings Title, Amount, and Release Date.
  4. Select the employees who should receive the adjustment.
  5. Choose Include Selected Employees, then select Close when finished.

The saved adjustment appears in the Adjusted Earnings list. Use the options in the Action column to edit or delete an entry when needed.

Import multiple adjustments

  1. From Adjusted Earnings, select Import.
  2. In the Import area, select Import again to open the upload form.
  3. Review the Import Adjusted Earnings Guidelines and download the supplied template.
  4. Fill in the required employee code, earning name, amount, and release date. Keep the template header unchanged.
  5. Save the completed file as CSV.
  6. Select Choose File, choose the CSV, and select Import.
  7. After the import finishes, select View Summary to review successful and failed records.
  8. If records failed, download the failure report, correct the listed data, and import the corrected file.

An import can complete even if a release date does not match the payroll group’s release schedule; in that case, the adjustment may not be included in the intended cutoff. Review dates before importing.

Troubleshooting

  • An adjustment is missing from payroll: Check that its release date matches the payroll group’s configured release date and that the relevant payroll period has been generated or regenerated.
  • An import fails: Check that the employee code exists and that the name, amount, and release date are present and valid.
  • The file will not upload: Save it as a CSV and leave the template headers unchanged.
  • An employee is unavailable: Confirm the employee profile exists and is active.

Review the import summary after every upload and verify the adjustment list before processing payroll.
